NZ plastic surgeon, Dr Chris Thomson has training in both Facial Plastic Surgery and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgery. He is a graduate of Otago University, New Zealand, a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.
Chris is a Consultant Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon at Christchurch Public Hospital and a Senior Lecturer with the Christchurch School of Medicine. His sub specialty interests are in Facial Plastic Surgery, Rhinology (management of nasal and sinus disorders) and Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat disorders. Chris consults privately at "Forte2", 132 Peterborough Street and operates at both the St George’s and Forte private hospitals.
Chris has trained in both facial plastic surgery and Otolaryngology, head and neck surgery and has completed a fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at The Stuart Clinic, Sydney, under Dr Martyn Mendelsohn a leading Australian Facial Plastic Surgeon. Chris has authored a number of published articles in international journals and has presented papers on rhinoplasty and other topics at international meetings.
Chris became interested in Facial Plastic Surgery both during and after his fellowship training as an Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon. The Head and Neck region is the area of the body to which Ear Nose and Throat Surgeons limit their training and practice and consequently they develop an intimate understanding of the complex anatomy and function of this area.
