Cost of Surgery

Many facial plastic surgical procedures can be performed under local anaesthesia with or without light sedation.  Some procedures such as Rhinoplasty and lower lid Blepharoplasty are almost always performed under general anaesthesia for surgical reasons. Generally, treatment under local anaesthetic reduces the overall cost of surgery by up to 50% by avoidance of the higher charges incurred during inpatient hospital stay.

Our fully equipped local anaesthesia procedure room is an excellent facility for local anaesthetic facial plastic surgical procedures. When you consult with Chris he will guide you as to whether it may be appropriate for your procedure to be performed under local or general anaesthetic.  While many procedures can be performed under local anaesthesia some patients prefer to be fully asleep for their surgery.  Individual preferences will be taken into account when making a decision regarding this.
